I think my best artwork this year was my landscape, seascape, cityscape, artwork. I love everything about this artwork. My favorite thing about this is they way that it all just fits together and the way the sunset looks. another one of my favorite parts of the clouds and the sun setting. If I had any artwork that I could re do it would be my final artwork of the trees. it took me forever to figure out what I wanted to do and at the ending I felt rushed since the semester was ending. I like the way the trees turned out but I don't like the hammock or the background. something that I really think i learned the most i this class is that I should always have fun. Another thing is that if i mess up on something I should keep going and see if I can work around it and fix things. One that I wish I could have done specifically is I wish I would have done is more with color. like in the beginning if the class I did an artwork with color for the object and i wish we could have done more with something like that.

For our final artworks we had kinda a free choice of what we wanted to do but she also kinda wanted to make it meaningful. so I chose to do one of my favorite childhood memories. At my grandparents house they have always had a hammock over by there river and me any my cousins would always play on it. I took one of my pictures that my mom had and I tried to kinda make them similar. I drew the tree trunk and branches in colored pencils along with the grass and the sky. Then for the leaves I used acrylic paint and a hard bush to dab it on there to get the look of leaves. This was not one of my best artworks or one of my favorites. I liked how the trees turned out but i wish I would have put more work and detail into the background. standards evidenceOne American indian artist that really stood out to me was Leah Yellowbird. The way she makes her art is just really cool to me. She learned beading from her aunt when she was younger and now she draws it. The was she drawes it is so realistic from far way I honestly probably couldn't tell the difference from a real on to a fake one. American Indian artist are really important if i'm being honest because they always try and make art that is meaningful to them and they always show who they really are. Art for me is kinda like a relaxer from all of my other classes. It messes with my head sometimes when I don't like something but I alway find a way to try and get around it. Art can impact a lot of people in different ways especially with different artworks, like say there is an artwork about like I don't know world peace or something it might really mean something to some people.
artist statement- portraitfor this artwork I drew myself. I used one of my pictures of myself that I liked and did the grid technique. I didnt wanna put any color in it because i liked it better in just black and white. The hardest thing that I did on it to me, was the nose and the lips. all around It was easy to do kinda, because I did the grid technique like I said but it was hard to do some parts. after awhile i just kinda went on my own and stopped doing the grid thing. it helped a lot but it was also hard to try and copy each square. My favorite part about it is probably their eyes and the face shape. It looks a lot like me and i'm really happy with how it turned out. share and presentfor this artwork I was originally going to do a picture of my best friend Kara bakke. I ended up not doing it because there was a lot of her shoulders in it and i didnt want her to feel bad about herself if i make it look bad so I just did myself. at first i didn't know where to put it because i could decide whether i wanted to put it up on the wall or if i wanted to share it with the class. I ended up putting my artwork up in the hallway by the SH bathroom because that where i just felt like it should go.
for our printmaking it took me along time to find what i wanted to do. I wanted to do something with a wave and a word at first. I used to word happy and then added a wave but then I didn't really like that. then I did a wave kind of circled, but as I was looking at that I found what I wanted to do. I drew a little wave and then at the end of the wave i pulled it around and I made a sun. my favorite part about this was making the shirt. I was so cool how they are made. Me and Kaylee also make shirts that said mint on them. and the sure were mint.
we finished up our artworks for landscape, seascape, cityscape. I am very happy with how it turned out. I chose seascape because I love the ocean and lakes in general. For this artwork I used tempera paint. I wanted to use acrylic but I on accidently used the wrong paint, but it still worked out in the end. I used different sized brushes for different parts. For my tree I used the smallest brush I could find to get the branches how I wanted, and for my sunset and water I used a bigger brush. When I was doing the water part of the artwork I had a lot of struggles. first off when I was trying to make the sun kinda bounce off the water it was hard to get the colors to mix. Also when I was doing my tree I messed up the water and I didnt have the colore that I used for it still and so I had to try and match it and it was a lot of trial and error. This artwork is based on two different pictures. At first I wanted to do the ocean with a palm tree but then I started playing around with other ideas and it ended up being a lake and a dead tree. Target evidenceFor this artwork I got a lot of feedback from Kaylee Gruber and Mrs. Underhill. It first I started off by asking mrs. Underhill how I could get my sun to bounce off the water better and then I went and started asking if there was anything that I could add to it to make it better. Kaylee and Mrs. Underhill said that I should make the tree look more realistic, so that's where I added the white parts onto the tree to give it like a shadow effect. Kaylee also said to make the clouds darker so I did. The biggest problem I hads with this artwork was getting the same color again when I messed up with the water. I had already Got rid of the color that i mixed for the water at that point so I had to try and match the color again. it worked out really good in the end because I make the sun bouncing off the water look better to.
My artwork is really colorful. for the project the object I used only 3 main colors which were blue, purple, and a little bit of pink here and there. I close them colors because they blended really well together and I love what them colors looked like splattered. My art is on a black sheet of paper and has 6 different squares with different techniques for each of them. Then I took different sized volleyballs and put them in the center of the squares. I used liquid watercolor for my project, I tried out others put they aren't as vibrant. some tennis that i used are I threw paint at the paper, saran wrap, wet on wet, and I also used sponges, i chose to do this artwork because i love volleyball. I have been doing volleyball since I was in 3rd grade and i have alway loved it. This year I got so much better tho, I practiced harder and I worked harder to my goals. Our volleyball season ended wednesday and I already miss it. I'm so happy with how my artwork turned out and now how pretty it looked with all of the colors, and with the volleyball in the middle of each square. Target Evidencefor my artwork "the object" I was inspired by this picture down below and my love for volleyball. last year in our art class when we would be washing the pain trays out I loved the colors that that would get mixed with the water and go down the drain. Then this wear when we had a lot more freedom with what we could make I started to play around with the water colors. and they gave me some really pretty colors and i loved the blue purples and pinks mixed. along the way I didn't really take many picture but I did get a few. I explored new techniques to get what I wanted but in the end I decided to do a different thing for each square of color. I used a six by six paper and I put water color then cut out a volleyball and taped it in. As i was going along I looked at what I liked and didn't like about what I was making, and I looked at what I could do to make it better. Then I finally just did it and got what I wanted. at this point I had to figure out how to put the squares, so I got feedback from Mrs. Underhill and Kaylee Gruber to see what looked best.
I started on my artwork for "the object". For this project I thought about something that I love, and I love volleyball. So I after our midia fair I figured out that I love the look of splattered watercolor. I played around with so many different things like the shaving cream technique, different ways to splatter the water colors, saran wrap, different types of watercolors, dabbing sponges, and the rubbing alcohol. I Made many observations on what worked and what didn't, like when I squished the watercolor under the saran wrap. At this point i'm playing around with where i'm going to put each paper, and where to put the volleyballs on the paper.
we finished up our work for the midia fair. For the mida fair We used materials such as charcoal, drawing pencil, acrylic paint, tempera paint, colored pencil, ink, and a few more. We basically just would have a different material to use each day (or 1 to 2 days somesomes) and we would explore them. We would have to wright down the different ways you can use them. Or like for the paints we would do a color wheel. we also would have like a task to do. like one day we did a collage where you got a magazine out of the box and you would have to think of something that you would make out of the pieces in the magazine. for that I did the world. one day that we used My favorite one that we used was the acrylic paint. I liked the way that the colors blended and you can mix different colors to get what you want. With water colors its harder to do that. It's also hard to get the sold colors you want from like a crayon or a colored pencils.
my goals for this new semester are I want to be more positive with everything and really focus on what I need to get done and try new things. I feel like last year I was just kind of forced to take the class, but I actually had a lot of fun trying all the different things and working with different materials that I thought It would be fun to take it again and focus and work harder to become a better artist.
